Salt and sugar scrubs are excellent body treatments that you can do at home to leave your skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated.   They are used to remove the outer most layers of the skin and strip away dry dead skin cells that build up over time.  The most sought after benefit of body scrubs is the prevention of visible signs of aging. Sugar scrubs are excellent ways to gently exfoliate the skin while being incredibly hydrating, which is great for dry summer months!

Body scrubs can be used however often you’d like based upon your skin type however we recommend exfoliating once or twice per week. At home scrubs are typically applied at the end of a shower before a final rinse. They exfoliate and re-hydrate the skin leaving it replenished and smooth.

Body Scrubs are easily made at home and we have three great scrub recipes so that you can enjoy a spa experience in the comfort of your own home. These ingredients just need to be mixed together in any bowl and can be sealed and kept to be used over the course of two weeks. Leaving the scrub sealed overnight will enhance its natural fragrances making it even more aromatic. Essential oils can be purchased at any health food or holistic health store. We hope you enjoy them!

Rise and Shine Polish

A stimulating exfoliant with antioxidant and cleansing properties.

1/4 cup ground coffee

1/2 cup Coconut Butter

Sugar & Spice Scrub

Sugar is generally less coarse than salt and can be used on sensitive skin.

1/4 cup cane sugar (coarse sugar can substitute)

1/8 cup oil (almond, grapeseed, safflower, coconut or vegetable can be used)

6 drops of cinnamon essential oil

4 drops of clove essential oil

Citrus Rose Body Scrub

A soothing yet uplifting and detoxifying scrub.

1/4 cup salt

1/4 cup oil (almond, grapeseed,etc)

2 drops lime essential oil

2 drops orange essential oil

2 drops rose essential oil

Pinch of orange zest
