Green Initiatives

Environmental accountability is integral to the Solage spirit. As a result, we've put a wide range of programs in place to promote and enhance our eco-friendly agenda such as:

    • Extensive recycling throughout the resort

    • In-room conserve program that invites guests to participate by reusing linens

    • Solar rooftop panels that help reduce overall energy consumption and CO2 emissions

    • Local, hand-made bath amenities in guest rooms, spa and public areas delivered in bulk-size containers for dispenser refilling and waste reduction

    • Pedal-power: our bellmen, housekeepers, engineers and room service attendants use bicycles as their primary mode of transportation on property

    • Complimentary cruiser bicycles are available to all guests for exploring the resort, local wineries and downtown Calistoga

    • Non-toxic cleaning product standards used throughout the property

Solbar cuisine features locally grown produce sourced from small organic farms

    • Carbon-filtered at-the-source drinking water offered at Solbar, Spa Solage and in guest rooms, reduces waste from plastic and glass bottled water

•Salt-based water filtration and disinfecting systems at Adult, Family and Bathhouse geothermal mineral pools minimizing use of chlorine and other chemicals

    • LEED approved Plyboo bamboo flooring used in the Gym and Yoga & Movement Studio

    • Non-toxic, low VOC emitting paints used throughout the resort

    • Natural materials, such as wool, jute, hemp, stone and reclaimed timbers, found in all guest rooms and public areas

    • On-site geo-thermal water produces radiant heating at Spa Solage treatment building and Bathhouse, and acts as a natural heat source for the Adult, Family and Bathhouse soaking pools

    • Bathhouse passive cooling architectural design eliminates need for air conditioning

    • Landscaping features native, drought-tolerate plants minimizing irrigation requirements (the source of which is reclaimed water from the City of Calistoga)

    • On-site composting program reduces food waste and provides soil nutrients for Solbar culinary gardens
